First thing you should know is that I am horrible at Bios, but let’s try this out! I was born and raised right here in Burlington, Iowa. I am very close with my family and have the absolute best niece in the world! Seriously, the best little girl an aunt could ask for! I actually got “into radio” when I was 14 years old. The morning DJ took a chance on the nerdy girl and I started interning before school every day. From there I got a part time job at the stations, fast forward a few years later and I had a full time job. When you put it that way, sounds pretty easy! I have been incredibly blessed to work with wonderful people throughout my career and had opportunities some never get!
What you’d be doing if you weren’t in radio: When I was younger, I wanted to be a writer, I usually have a notebook near me at all times.
Favorite TV Shows: Okay, here is more of nerd me showing… Doctor Who, Supernatural, Sherlock, Torchwood, Pretty much anything BBC or SyFy. To be honest, I don’t watch a lot of live TV, I Netflix A LOT.
Favorite Movie: All-time favorite would have to be Life is Beautiful , amazing movie, but allow yourself a few hours to cry afterwards. Second fav is The Little Mermaid.
Favorite Book: Now THIS is the hard one. Top two are The Poisonwood Bible and The Time Traveler’s Wife. That being said, I read constantly and have so many favorites, it’s not even funny. The Lord of the Rings series, Harry Potter, The Edgar Allan Poe Collection, Discworld collection…. You get the idea.
Favorite Food: Carnitas…. Yuuummmm. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a Mexican pork dish that I go crazy over. I cook a big batch of it in the crockpot at least once a month! I cook and bake a lot so I have new favorites I get to try all the time!
Favorite Drink: I drink a lot of water, ginger ale if I’m feeling edgy lol
Favorite Concert: Like many people in my line of work, I’ve been blessed with opportunities to see some amazing performers. My favorite concert has to be when I went to Heart this past spring. Hearing Ann Wilson belt from second row center was glorious.
First Concert: My mom took me to Eric Clapton and Robert Cray in Moline. I’ll never forget that one!
Most Embarrassing Moment: Truth be told, I am so very clumsy, it is not even funny. I guess the biggest case this was evident was when I was accepting some scholarships my senior year. There was this big event at the high school with a stage and the whole shebang. My name was called and I started to the stage. I tripped UP the stairs to the stage in front of EVERYONE. My face was bright red for a week!
Alright, I think that covers it! If you want to know anything else, just ask!
