Art falls on child in a community center in Overland Park, Kansas / Photo credit: surveillance video
In a community center in Overland Park Kansas, a statue fell on a 5-year-old after he tried to give it a hug. The boy was physically uninjured but has had nightmares since the incident. The statue was damaged.
The city wants the boy’s parents to cover the $132,000+ valuation of the statue. Are the parents at fault for this? Is the community center to blame for not securing the statue in some way such that this would not have happened?
Also, notice the folks in the sitting area just… well… sitting there.
